Statement of Faith

What we receive from Scripture

These are not our ideas about God. They are what He has said about Himself, and we simply receive it.

The Bible We receive Scripture as God's own Word, breathed out by Him and without error in what He first gave. It tells us everything we need to know Him and to know His plan to redeem us. Nothing is added to it, and nothing is needed beyond it. 2 Tim. 3:16–17 · Heb. 4:12
One God, Three Persons We worship one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, one being, forever. Deut. 6:4 · Matt. 28:19
Jesus Christ We bow before Jesus as fully God, born of a virgin, fully human, yet without sin. He lived the life we could not live, was tempted as we are and never fell. His miracles showed us the Kingdom breaking in. He gave His blood on the cross to carry away our sin, rose bodily on the third day as the first of a great resurrection to come, ascended to the Father's right hand, and is coming again in glory. The Holy Spirit We believe the Spirit is fully God, poured out at Pentecost, alive and at work in His people today — filling us, empowering us, forming Christ's character in us. Jn. 14:15–27 · Rom. 8:1–27
Humankind We believe every person is made in God's image, free and responsible before Him — and that every person, apart from Him, has sinned and fallen short, dead in offenses until He makes us alive. Gen. 1–3 · Rom. 3:23 · Rom. 6:23
Salvation We believe Jesus offered Himself once, fully, for the sin of the world — and that in His name alone, through repentance, faith, and the Spirit's new-birth work in us, we are saved. There is no other name. Jn. 3:16 · Acts 4:12 · Eph. 2:8–9
Baptism of the Holy Spirit We believe the Father's promise, given at Pentecost, still empowers us today — to carry the gospel to the nations and to live holy, Spirit-filled lives. Acts 1:8 · Rom. 8:5–17
Sanctification We believe holiness is not something we build by effort or willpower — it is Christ formed in us as we surrender fully to Him. It is a lifelong unfolding of grace, not a performance. 2 Cor. 5:17 · Gal. 5:13–25
Gifts of the Spirit We believe the Spirit gives every believer grace-gifts — to build up the Church and carry the gospel forward — and we earnestly desire them, always tested against Scripture. 1 Cor. 12:1–6 · 1 Cor. 14:1–25
These Gifts Continue We believe every gift given to the early Church — healing, prophecy, miracles, tongues, discernment, and more — is still at work today, exactly as it was at Pentecost. Nothing has been withdrawn. 1 Cor. 12:4–11 · 1 Pet. 4:11
The Church We believe the Church is not a building or an organization — it is every person born of the Spirit, joined together as one body under Christ, who is our Head. Matt. 16:18 · Col. 1:18
Resurrection We believe every person will rise bodily — those in Christ, to reign with Him forever on the new earth; those without Him, to judgment. 1 Cor. 15:1–50 · Rev. 21:1–8

Ordinances, callings, and the hope we hold — the same faith, worked out in how we live.

Water Baptism We believe baptism by full immersion is Jesus' own command for every believer. Going under the water and rising up, we're identified with His death, burial, and resurrection. It doesn't save us — it declares what He's already done. Matt. 28:19 · Rom. 6:4
Communion At the Table, we remember. The bread is His body, broken for us. The cup is His blood, poured out for the new covenant. We eat and drink until He comes, proclaiming His death and looking for His return. 1 Cor. 11:26 · 2 Pet. 1:4
Healing We believe healing was purchased at the cross, alongside forgiveness. It is not owed to us, but it is offered to us — and we contend for it in faith. Isa. 53:4–5 · Matt. 8:16–17
The Church's Call We believe the Church exists to do three things: worship the Father, carry the gospel to the world, and build one another up into maturity in Christ. Every believer shares this calling — it isn't reserved for a few. Jn. 4:23–24 · Mark 16:15 · Eph. 4:11–16
Marriage and the Body We believe God made us male and female, each bearing His image, and that marriage is His gift of one man and one woman, for life. We hold this not as a rule imposed from outside, but as part of His good design for how we were made. Gen. 1:26–27; 2:24 · Matt. 19:5–6
The Sanctity of Life We believe every life is sacred to God from conception onward — known and formed by Him before it is seen by anyone else. We carry concern for the whole person, body, spirit, and soul, in everything we do. Ps. 139:13 · Jer. 1:5 · Gal. 6:10 · 1 Thess. 5:23
The Promises We are waiting for Him — His return in glory, the restoration of all things, and a new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells. This is our hope, and it shapes how we live now. 2 Pet. 3:13 · Rev. 21–22
Judgment We believe there is a day of reckoning coming for every life. Those written in the Book of Life stand in Christ; nothing else will be asked to stand in judgment's place. Rev. 20:11–15

The Nicene Creed

What the Church has confessed for seventeen centuries

Reproduced here exactly as received, unaltered and unparaphrased.

We believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: By the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
